You may have received dividends for a schemes in earlier periods (monthly, yearly etc) but did not receive a dividend for this period. It is not compulsory for mutual funds to pay out the income as dividends. They can pay dividends only out of realized gains and therefore, dividend may not be paid out every year. Declaration of dividends depends on market conditions and fund performance.
